ISTANBUL GRILL

Monitoring Cleveland's Turkish eateries can be somewhat similar to playing the name game. Up until 2004, Northeast Ohio had zero Turkish diners, an inadequacy helped by Yashar Yildirim, who opened the bar-setting Anatolia Cafe at Cedar Center and later moved it to its present spot on Lee Road in Cleveland Heights.

In 2010, Anatolia was participated in the commercial center by Istanbul Grill, which opened in the newly redesigned Hotz Valley View Cafe space in Tremont. That very year, Dervish Grill opened in Avon and Alaturka opened around there, assuming control over the first Kan Zaman spot. Alaturka kept going just a single year as the property was eaten up and folded into the Townhall improvement.

In 2013, Istanbul Grill shut its entryways in Tremont, however, it was very quickly supplanted by Dervish Grill, which traded its Avon address for a Cleveland one. Dervish shut two years after the fact, itself supplanted by Tandul, an Indian café that is as yet pushing ahead.
